About the Study

Pain management: A study evaluating a low dose of Dexmedetomidine for pain management post-operatively following posterior spinal fusion.

This study is for children/young adults: -Patients aged 10-21 with diagnosis of idiopathic scoliosis -Undergoing posterior spinal fusion of at least 5 levels The purpose of this study is to find out if adding a medication called Dexmedetomidine to normal medications for pain management improves pain control and decreases the number of side effects.
