"Who turned the console orange?" How Inside Out 2 explores emerging anxiety in adolescents
Join the Children’s Mercy Kansas City Depression and Anxiety in Youth (DAY) Clinic and Office for Community Impact for a viewing of clips from the Inside Out movies, alongside a guided discussion about anxiety experienced by adolescents. Topics for discussion will include:
- Developmental and psychological factors impacting mental health into the teenage years
- Analyze the characters and emotions in "Inside Out"
- Understanding the connections among emotions and how each emotion plays a critical role
- How memories and beliefs shape our identity
- Peer and parent relationships in the teenage years
- What can we do about anxiety?
In addition to a forum for youth to discuss their experiences and helpful resources for caregivers, there will also be refreshments, giveaways and a chance to win prizes.
