4th Annual Cerebral Palsy Family Education Day

Join us for our annual Cerebral Palsy Family Education Day hosted by Children’s Mercy. We are back this year for our one-day event that provides families with direct access to our clinicians, local vendors, parent panels, a national speaker and fun activities for the whole family.

Our event this year will be held at Children’s Mercy Hospital CMRI, our recently constructed research tower.

Due to limited space, registration is required. The registration deadline is April 15, 2024.

Our event will be held at Children’s Mercy Hospital CMRI. There will be valet parking directly outside of the CMRI entrance on E 23rd St between Kenwood and Locust.

Schedule of Events


Our event will start at 9:00 a.m., the day will include presentations by nationally recognized Keynote speakers and our own renowned faculty.

All our education sessions will be at the beginning of the day followed by panel discussions devoted to specific conditions and family fun activities.

We will also have activities and crafts for kids and families to participate in during the presentations or breaks.  There will also be an opportunity to participate in adaptive archery!

Jacqueline N. Kaufman, PhD 


Dr. Kauffman is a Clinical Psychologist at University of Michigan with a specialization in clinical neuropsychology and experimental neuroscience.  She currently serves as the Interim Associate Chair for Communication, Culture & DEI, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, as well as Clinical Associate Professor, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation
Pediatric Clinical Psychologist. She is co-investigator of the Adapted Cognitive Assessment Laboratory and is currently exploring the use of assistive technology and traditional research measures of cognition to increase accessibility to complex cognitive testing in children with severe motor and speech impairments. Her funded research targets the study of working memory in children with cerebral palsy.
