Community of Bilingual Practice

What is the Community of Bilingual Practice?

The Community of Bilingual Practice (CBP) is a dynamic community of bilingual health and human services professionals dedicated to serving those who prefer a language other than English. Rooted in the Community of Practice model, our collective mission is to ensure equitable access to quality health and human services for all language communities in the Kansas City metro area.

At CBP, we foster a vibrant network of bilingual practitioners through a myriad of engaging events and activities. Our initiatives are crafted to promote continuous learning, foster collaboration, and provide unwavering support to our members.

Join us in our commitment to champion diversity, inclusivity, and excellence in health and human services delivery for all. Together, we're breaking down language barriers and building a healthier, more connected world.

The Community of Bilingual Practice (CBP) has a three-fold goal to increase:

  1. Connections. By cultivating a robust sense of camaraderie  and collaboration among bilingual professionals and fostering a supportive network for shared learning and growth.

  2. Capacity. By growing the number of  professionally trained and proficient bilingual practitioners to meet the growing demand for multilingual health and human services.

  3. Career Pathways. By pioneering innovative career avenues and opportunities for both emerging and established bilingual practitioners, ensuring their continued professional development and success in the field.

In pursuing our strategic goals, the CBP is actively shaping the landscape of health and human services delivery, empowering bilingual practitioners to thrive and make a meaningful impact in diverse communities.
