Administrative Internship
Overview
Children’s Mercy Kansas City is pleased to offer a paid undergraduate and graduate summer internship for Summer 2024. Our undergraduate summer administrative internships are for current junior and senior students interested in healthcare administration at a pediatric institution. Our graduate summer administrative internship is for current Master level students in accredited programs focused on Healthcare Administrative, Business Administration, Public Health, or other similar programs.

Mentored by a member of the Executive Leadership Team and supervised by the Administrative Fellows, the interns will identify personal and professional goals that Children’s Mercy will help accomplish. During the last week of our Administrative Internship, interns will be required to present a brief overview of their summer rotations, projects, and highlights.

How to Apply
The application process for summer 2024 internships in now closed. The application process for future internships, including summer 2025, will resume in November 2024.
All applications are required to be summitted through our online careers portal that will be linked on this page when available. Please be prepared to attach a cover letter and resume. Please include a statement on why you are interested in pursuing a career in pediatric healthcare administration in your cover letter.
Time Commitment
Selected interns should expect to be available Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm. All internships are in-person, and thus interns are expected to find summer living arrangements near Kansas City, MO. Specific dates depend on the selected intern’s academic schedule. All interns are required to complete a minimum of 8-weeks and a maximum of 10-weeks.

Administrative Fellowship
Children’s Mercy Kansas City also offers a one-year Administrative Fellowship that provides enterprise-wide experiences to passionate healthcare leaders interested in working in pediatric administration.
