Clinical Experience
Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Fellowship
The Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Fellowship offers a vast range of clinical training between inpatient and outpatient services. Fellows participate in their own continuity clinic one-half day each week with attending supervision, following their own patient cohort for the entire three years. Fellows have two mini-teams (both hematology and oncology) each consisting of a dedicated faculty member, advanced practice nurse (APN) and social worker, all devoted to the fellows to assist with education and organization and provide protected time during research blocks. Our program exposes fellows all Pediatric Hematology/Oncology diagnoses, with strong sickle cell, hemostasis and thrombosis, and cancer programs.
Additionally, each fellow is paired with a clinical mentor and structured mentorship program. The fellow and mentor are expected to meet semiannually at minimum and review topics geared toward career development.
