Lodging and Transportation: Help from Medicaid

If your child has Medicaid you can ask for help with:

  • Rides to their medical appointments
  • Reimbursements (get a refund after paying)
    • Gas
    • Hotel / lodging accommodations

Call your child’s insurance at least 7 days before the appointment to ask for help with rides, gas or hotel accommodations.

Have the below information ready before you call:

  • Name of doctor
  • Address (see our Locations page for Children’s Mercy addresses)
  • Telephone number where you can be reached, especially if you are driving or riding along with your child
